The 3rd edition of Felix Anirah Football Tournament expected to commence 15th November 2020, in Sapele, Delta State, will be attended by international local scouts, ADVOCATE gathered.
The member representing Sapele in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon Felix Anirah who disclosed this on Tuesday also said the tournament will feature football teams from Delta, Edo and Bayelsa states.
Anirah, who was addressing journalists on the preparations said “Both foreign and home-based scouts have indicated interest to be on the ground to scout for players.
“There will also be a novelty match as curtain-raiser in the final that is expected to take place at the Sapele Township stadium where ex-internationals will be involved to entertain the crowd.” adding that one of the aims of the tournament is targeted at getting youths away from idleness.
He further urged the Ministry of Sports and Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, to commence contact sports, as it is a source of income to some persons out there.
